ENVIRONMENTAL PEACEBUILDING

The environmental Peacebuilding thematic area recognises that environmental issues such as land, water, minerals and climate can be linked to conflict and addressing such issues can help promote peace and sustainable development. The focus under this thematic area is to promote the transformation of conflicts that emanate from the management of natural resources.

CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION AND LIVELIHOODS

The Conflict and Livelihoods thematic area addresses the interconnectedness of conflict and economic well being. It promotes approaches that not only aim to resolve existing conflicts peacefully but also focus on building sustainable livelihoods for communities affected by conflict. This dual focus fosters long term stability by empowering individuals and communities to reduce competition over scarce resources and build a foundation for a peaceful future

WOMEN AND YOUTH IN PEACEBUILDING

The Women and Youth in Peacebuilding thematic title emphasizes the agency and leadership potential of women and youth in peacebuilding efforts. It highlights the importance of empowering these groups to be active participants in conflict resolution, reconciliation and the creation of sustainable peace.
